Waterfun Tour

Your tour starts as you cruise across the Hauraki Gulf on a 360 Discovery ferry to the relaxed, friendly Coromandel Town.

Here you’ll be met by our coach for the scenic journey to The Waterworks
during which time you will learn about the region’s unique history from one of the locals. Arrive at The Waterworks for a totally unique experience where you can delight in playing with the interactive contraptions, mostly made from commonplace bits and pieces.

Try pumping water by bike power, listen to a water powered music box, and figure out how things like the giant water-powered clock works! Rock on a water powered rocking horse - Yes adults can do these activities also! Ride the flying bikes, or the mouse wheel. Try one of two flying foxes - and many more whimsical wonders. There is also an excellent children's playground there plus opportunities to swim in the meandering cool stream which runs through the property.

See the huge Captain Cook Pig "Petunia", the muschovy ducks, chickens and the very friendly cafe dog "Mocha". Have a meal at their cafe or take your own food and spend time using one of the free BBQs. There are also some delightful gifts to tempt the most discerning shopper.

Enjoy the whole day there until you return to Auckland by the ferry. Alternatively make up your own group and have a catered lunch before being returned by bus to the ferry for the return trip to Auckland. You also have the option to go into Coromandel Town after your visit to The Waterworks before heading home on the ferry. Click Ferry tab for more details.

"A most magical place for all ages, thank you. The use of items such as everyday things that have had a past life is inspiring." From the Waterworks visitor comment book
